Big News: We are one vote away from placing Honest Elections Seattle on the November ballot!
Last month, we submitted over 33,000 signatures from supporters committed to fighting the influence of big money in Seattle elections. Last week, King County Elections validated those signatures, sending Honest Elections Seattle (Initiative 122) to the Seattle City Council for final approval.
In order for Honest Elections Seattle to reach your ballot this November, we need the City Council to pass a resolution. We are too close now to miss this opportunity to get big money out of our city politics.
Now is the time when our elected representatives need to hear our voices most.
The City Council has scheduled a hearing on July 13th at 2:00pm in City Hall to vote on placing Honest Elections on this November’s ballot. Let’s make sure that they hear how committed Seattle is to building a better democracy where ordinary people matter more than big donors and wealthy corporations.
Will you join us at the hearing?
